Busy, Busy.

I've adopted a busier life, which is why I haven't been to blogger lately. A big thanks to Alison for checking on me...how sweet of you! In addition to working out 3 times a week, I've joined a coed volleyball league through our YMCA. I'm having so much fun with that! Everything is going well~ we have just been spending our days outside enjoying the gorgeous weather! Hope to post more soon. Now, off to catch up on long lost friends' blogs!

March

So it's March already~Wow. I've been MIA. Life isn't so easy with a new puppy around! Why didn't someone warn me? ha ha He's adjusted really well and is keeping us on our toes. Potty and crate training are both going really well, but boy is he playful.

I started working out three times a week at our local YMCA. I have a workout buddy and we're holding each other accountable. It's fun getting out after the kids go to bed with a girlfriend for some laughs, good music, and hot abs. ;) Last night, in fact, we were so proud of ourselves that we sped away from the Y to the local restaurant/bar and had ourselves a tall strawberry daquiri.

Life is good.

Our Newest Addition!

We finally found him...and what a honey he is. The newest member of our family is little teensy tiny 9 week old Ozzy, a miniature schnauzer. He is soooooooo sweet, and my kids are just eating him up! My husband and I found him through a breeder in the area and surprised our kids with him. They had NO idea. It was a great surprise, and you can tell by the genuine smiles on their precious faces that they are completely enthralled with their new baby.

Thankful Thursday~Da Momma

Today, and everyday, I'm thankful for my mom. She drives me insane a lot of the time, and never hesitates to give me her opinion, even when it's not needed...or wanted. (Is that where I got that quality? ha) But gosh, I wouldn't trade that beautiful lady for anything in the world. We talk on the phone daily, and have developed quite an amazing adult friendship. She is the BEST grandmother to my kids that I could have asked for. She watches them every single time I need her to, and one or the other of my children spends at least one night a week with her...not because I need them to, but because SHE needs them to. She's one of a kind, and I wanted to share her sweet little self with all of you!

I'm Alive! Yesireebob!

Sorry I've been missing. I know you've all been waiting with baited breath for my return. Well, here I am. No real excuses other than life. We've been helping Laken get her science fair project going. The fair was yesterday, and guess who took FIRST PLACE???

She's so proud! She took a scientific look inside the lava lamp. The store bought lamp is behind here on the right, and the one she made is on the left. She and my dad even made the base out of old dirty metal. It looks fantastic, and really works!

I'm considering starting weight watchers this week. Has anyone tried it and had success? I have a friend doing it and she's not struggling so much. I like the idea of a diet with very little struggle involved. I need to lose 20 lbs. So give me some feedback. Pros, cons, whatev.

Thankful Thursday~ Valentine's Day!

As I prepare to spend Valentine's Day evening and night ALONE, I am begrudgingly thankful for my husband's job. This job has taken him away from us for COUNTLESS holidays, most weekends, and at least half of all weekday dinners. It has been an enormous source of stress for my husband at times, and has provided plenty of drama in the past 11 years. It resulted in me basically raising my first baby alone, with her at one point calling her daddy and asking if he'd like to come spend the night at her house.

It has also enabled us to buy a beautiful home and furnish it, buy our very first certificate of deposit at our local bank, and save for our childrens' futures. The same boss who has kept my husband away for each of our ten anniversary dates gave us extra cash to pay for every single meal we had to buy while our daughter was in the hospital for ten days last year. That same man that I've cussed and mumbled about gave my husband a full week off each time we had a child, with pay. This job that I sometimes despise enabled me to stay home with my children, attend college, and graduate with my bachelors last year.

So while I may be a teensy bit bitter and jealous that all of you are being pampered by your sweethearts this evening, I am thankful for my husband's job. It's hard to see the benefits at times like this, but I know that tomorrow my honey will return with a little special something for me and we'll celebrate Valentine's Day together, even if it's not on Valentine's Day.
